What Is an Adventurer to Do?
I’m overwhelmed by the amount of places on this earth worth experiencing. In the past months, I’ve explored only a 300-mile radius in Texas and I haven’t even scratched the surface of these places.
I visited Kingsland, Texas and on the main highway going through, it didn’t look special at all. But the longer I stayed, the more I loved it. The more I discovered, the more I wanted to discover.
I didn’t want to leave but I felt the call of other places. I felt an equally intense compulsion to explore the next quiet river town as I did to uncover the secrets of the present one. My self was pulled with equal force in two directions and I had to pick one.
Those of us who have an insatiable urge to explore every corner of this planet are faced with a dilemma. We want to learn everything about everywhere. We want to find the tiniest secrets of every place on the planet. But when we start exploring, we begin to see how short our lives really are.
We don’t have enough time to experience everything. If we want to marry and have children, we have even less. We have to decide whether we’ll stay in one place to learn everything or move on to the next place for another equally diverse experience. We’re faced with a question.
