Intelligence is Overrated

Intellect is awesome but unused intellect is fairly worthless. An idiot who creates something valuable is way cooler than a genius who thinks for ten years.

This was hard for me to learn. As an early teen I felt smarter than everyone. I didn’t want to see that my intellect meant nothing when it was coated with laziness and procrastination.

The value is in the doing. Many intelligent people have a habit of getting lost in a whirlpool of thought and planning. While they’re stressing about details, the “fool” gets started, fails a few times, and produces a finished product before the intellectual even starts.
